General FAQ's
A sleep coach helps you or your child develop healthy, sustainable sleep habits. I use research-based techniques to identify the root causes of sleep struggles and create personalised plans that fit your lifestyle and goals.
Honestly, they are all different titles for pretty much the same job! Everyone has slightly different qualifications and experience, so it’s always worth contacting them directly to make sure they are a good ‘fit’ and have knowledge and experience of the difficulties you are facing.
Sleep coaching is not medical treatment. I don’t diagnose or prescribe, but I do provide education, strategies, and support to help you improve your sleep naturally. If I feel medical input is necessary, I’ll advise you to consult your GP or other healthcare provider.
Everyone is different. Some people notice improvements within a week, while for others it may take several weeks. Progress depends on the underlying issues and how consistently you apply the strategies.
I offer all my consultations online, which means I can work with clients across the worldwide. This also makes it easier to fit sessions into busy schedules.
I am certified to help babies, children, teens and adults. As I work predominantly online, I am able to help clients worldwide.
I believe that sleep is really intimate, so it’s really important to gel with the person who is going to help you get your sleep (or your child’s) back on track. That’s why I offer a free call rather than you being able to book straight away – because frankly you may not laugh at my jokes, in which case it would never work…
My core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Clients on my Silver and Gold packages are given to option to include out-of-hours support at an additional cost, meaning I’ll respond to messages between 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am – 2:00 pm on weekends. This ensures you have access to timely support when you need it most.
Babies & Children
No. I never use harsh or “one-size-fits-all” methods. My approach is gentle, evidence-based, and always tailored to your child’s age, needs, and your family’s values. I like to think of it more of ‘Sleep Learning’ than ‘Sleep Training’.
No. I don’t use “cry it out” methods. Instead, I work with you to gradually build healthy sleep habits that feel right for your family.
Tweens & Teens
Yes, but it’s not just about “bedtimes.” Teen sleep is strongly influenced by circadian rhythm shifts, school demands, and hormones. I work with both parents and teens to create realistic routines and strategies that support better sleep and energy.
Actually, improving sleep often reduces stress, boosts focus, and helps with memory and mood, which are all crucial during exams. Ideally we would work together prior to exams, although I make sure any strategies we use are simple and manageable alongside schoolwork.
Adults
Yes. Even long-term insomnia can be improved with the right approach. I use evidence-based strategies (including CBT-i methods) to help retrain your sleep patterns and reduce anxiety around bedtime.
Yes. I’m a Certified Light Therapy Practitioner, which means I can help you manage circadian rhythm challenges, jet lag, and the unique demands of shift work.
There’s no magic pill for sleep (unfortunately!) but there are proven techniques that can make a big difference quickly when followed consistently. My role is to guide, support, and keep you accountable.
Working together
The first step is to book a call for us to speak about the difficulties you or your child are facing. You can book a convenient time here.
Yes. Most of my packages include follow-up support by email or messages between sessions. This ensures you’re not left on your own to figure things out. Further follow up or accountability is also available as an add-on after we have finished working together.
